October 4, 2014: On this fall afternoon in Oxford, #11 Ole Miss played host to #3 Alabama for a showdown of undefeateds. College GameDay was on hand and expectations were high for an epic contest. Reality exceeded any hopes anyone could have had.

Alabama led 14-3 at halftime, but Ole Miss clawed their way back in the 3rd quarter before scoring back to back touchdowns in the last 5:29 of the 4th to take the 23-17 lead with under three minutes to play.

Alabama never fall easily and put together a drive starting at their own 13 yard line. The Ole Miss defense needed to step up, but struggled against the potent Tide attack. Five consecutive plays had Bama threatening at the Rebel 32 yard line.

Bama quarterback Blake Sims dropped back and launched a pass to 6 foot 6 inch tight end OJ Howard in the back of the endzone, but Senquez Golson had read the play beautifully, coming off his coverage and sprinting to meet the ball. Only 5 foot 9 inches, Golson’s position was perfect and he intercepted the ball, barely getting one foot down in bounds to seal the play and secure the win for Ole Miss.
